BRIDAL/BALLS
CUTS & COLOURS
One of the most common complaints from client’s experiences at salons is that they weren’t listened to when they asked for a particular style. Rest assured, I will discuss in full, and take into account your wishes, lifestyle, and budget (if you are comfortable with that), before I begin your service. It is very common to have a client who has a fear of salons or a new hairdresser, which I view as a challenge and will go the extra mile to make them comfortable and reassured.
When children come to a salon, sometimes they too can be frightened and/or easily distracted which can be very challenging. I have a TV set up for them to watch and recommend that you book them in at a time when children’s programmes are on. I also have a beautiful (but cheeky and naughty) fluffy Birman cat (Rodney) that all children love and seem to relax around. He has his monthly showers and shampoos so is very much a pampered salon cat!!
I have a passion for colour. I also am an artist so one wall in my salon is dedicated to displaying my art which is also for sale. I use several different brands of hair colour depending on the client’s needs. (Matrix, DE Lorenzo, In vision, Colorianne essence, Pravana). I am proud to say that I am exclusively the only salon in New Zealand stocking Pravana colours. Pravana comes in an extra bright range and now also with a neon glow in the dark range.

I am happy to go mobile for this service. A bride’s wishes will be my number 1 priority and I am happy to do a practice hair up on them. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking (for brides). If you have several people that are wanting their hair styled, I can bring along an assistant. I also have contacts for photography, makeup, beauty therapy and massage if you would like a recommendation.
In the beginning of 2010, I was the first stylist in the top of the South Island to provide keratin straightening. Keratin straightening is very different to chemical straightening. It has a gradual wear out effect (so no visible regrowth line) which lasts up to 4 months and it repairs the hair as well. I have had my hair keratin straightened every 3-4 months for the last 4 & ½ years as it makes the hair smoother, softer, and significantly easier to manage. This service can be done over previously bleached and chemically treated hair, unlike chemical straightening. The differences between chemical and keratin straightening are significant on different hair types, so please feel free to book in for a consult for me to explain it further.
KERATIN STRAIGHTENING

"AFFORDABLE
STYLES THAT
COME TO YOU!"

Stage 1.
First we start with 2 washes with cleanser then dry the hair.
Stage 2.
The keratin product is then applied and left on for 20 mins, then blow dried into the hair.
Stage 3.
Fine sections are made and the keratin is sealed into the hair with very hot straighteners. You can see the difference in the texture from the left and right.
End Result.
After the treatment the hair is straighter and smoother. It must not be washed, wet, tied up or kinked for 3 days. After the first wash 3 days later the hair feels soft light and silky smooth and will be easier to maintain for up to 3-4 months as it gradually wears out.
